Tip of the Week

A cryptogram is a coded message that you can decrypt through a substitution cipher. In other words, each letter is replaced by a different letter. Any original blank spaces and punctuation is intact from the original message. Each A might have become an M, B might have become a V, etc. The word "the" could encrypted as "SYG". Once you have decoded the key, you could make the backwards substitutions, and then read the original message. Use your knowledge of the common letter combinations and word endings of the English language. For example, "I" and "a" are the only common single-letter words.
